I grew up travelling and believing myself to be a global citizen. I never felt quite right saying the pledge of allegiance and I actually prefer “God Save the Queen”. I’ve never believed in one person over another and certainly no country over another, just by right of birth, colour, gender, religion or some other perceived dominance. To my mind, you may decide whether to interact with someone, based upon their words and deeds, at any give time. In the meantime, respect.
That’s how I travel and that’s the attitude with which we will journey at Ava Suren Interiors: ID. With no desire to be demonstrative over our host environment, we will instead merge and blend; experience the spiritual and mystical nature, the social aspects, found music, local food and design intrinsic to the culture. Immersion in the energy of the place is essential. These are voyages, not tourism. And because of that we also include an element of service in our journeys. Ava Suren sets out to create journeys of the soul, where we immerse ourselves in the beauty of the culture and experience the bond of service.
With a curators eye and refined taste, we will experience the finest in local design, food and entertainment. We will stay in places that are not only filled with “grounded opulence” but are experiential in nature. We will know the hip nightlife as well as the local legends. We will show you where to get that killer local “find”. We will respect our hosts, experience absolutely nothing that we could get back home and allow enough space and time for synchronicity and energy exchange. The groups will be small and elite. We will walk a LOT, and you mustn’t be timid or afraid to get dirty. Think part journalist, part global shopper. Our service work will be in coordination with local partnerships.
